The Cowanesque Valley Lady Indians topped the Wellsboro Lady Hornets on the tennis courts on Thursday, August 24, sweeping the meet 5-0.

In first singles, CV’s Kylie Stone beat Wellsboro’s Hannah Nuss, 6-4, 6-3.
In second singles, CV’s Laynie LaBarron beat Leslie Bowers, 6-0, 7-5.
In third singles, CV’s Logan Hamilton beat Olivia Gage, 6-1, 6-0.
First doubles, CV’s Chelsea Wattles and Kiya Berdanier beat Wellsboro’s Braelynn Butler and Ysabel Miller after 3 sets, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6. In second doubles, CV’s Kyra Campbell and Jewel Smith beat Evelyn Wetherbee and Kyleigh Lynn, 6-4, 6-2.

The win begins the Indian’s season at 1-0. Wellsboro will compete again today at 4:00pm, traveling to Bucktail, while the Indians travel to Galton next week.
