The Wellsboro Lady Hornets hosted the Athens Lady Wildcats on Tuesday, September 5, with the Wildcats claiming victory, 3-0.

Seven minutes into the game Athens’ Kendra Merrill set up Lizzie Gorsline to receive the ball, slamming it across the center for the goal. Athens lead 1-0.

8 minutes left in the half, Gorsline received the ball again just outside the box, made the shot, it was deflected, but a quick tap sent the ball back in to put Athens up 2-0.

Finally, just under 6 minutes left on the clock, Gorsline confirmed her hat trick from 27 yards out as she sent the ball just out of reach of the keeper. This would close out the night with the Lady Wildcats on top, claiming the victory 3-0.

The Lady Hornets will be back on the field again as they travel to Northeast Bradford on Thursday.
