Incoming Ice Cream Social!
June is national dairy month. Is there a better way to celebrate than by eating ice cream?
The Roseville United Methodist Church is holding their Annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 10, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. All of the ice cream is homemade from the same basic recipe they have used since the early days of the event, which has been a church tradition for over fifty years. Until two years ago, all of the ice cream was cranked by hand, but they now have a new machine—they say it isn’t any faster, but it makes the process a whole lot easier!
There are a variety of delectable flavors to choose from including traditional favorites like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry; as well as peanut butter ripple, Grapenut, butter pecan, coconut, and chocolate cherry and others for the more adventuresome. Proceeds from the ice cream sales support local and global missions. In addition to ice cream, they will also serve hot dogs, Texas hots, macaroni salad, potato salad, and baked beans.
Special additions to this year’s event are a bake sale coordinated by the Roseville Women’s Fellowship, and a silent auction organized by Andrea Tumminello and her mom, Diane. The bake sale and silent auction will benefit their friend, neighbor, and church member Laurie Kasper. Included in the silent auction are gift cards from Wal-Mart, Papa V’s Pizzaria, Night and Day Coffee Cafe, Cast & Crew, Corey Creek Golf Club, and Highland Chocolates. Gift baskets have been donated by Patricia Hutcheson’s Beauty Salon, Backroad Creamery, Yorkshire Meadows, and Marge’s Corner on Country. A maple basket has been provided by Dora Tice. Other items include a cord of seasoned firewood from the United Methodist men’s group, handmade items from Needles Quilt Shop, and a photography session from Captured by Carrie photography. There is certainly something for everyone!
So come on down to the Roseville United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 10, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm, for a relaxing evening visiting with friends, enjoying delicious homemade food and treats, and supporting a great cause!
