The Wellsboro Cross Country teams closed out the 2016 regular season with wins over North Penn-Mansfield and Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, October 11.

In the boys race, Wellsboro beat North Penn-Mansfield 19-36 and edged CV 27-28. CV also beat Mansfield 22-36.

Wellsboro’s Aidan Perry won with a time of 16:32, followed by the Tigers’ Blake Nelson in 17:13, CV’s Madden Doud in 17:23, CV’s Evan Miller with a time of 17:27, and Wellsboro Connor Brough rounded out the top 5 in 18:04.

In the girls race, Wellsboro beat North Penn-Mansfield 27-29 and CV 21-36, and North Penn-Mansfield beat CV 23-34.

CV’s Jules Jones came home first in 19:29, followed by North Penn-Mansfield’s Lyndsay Payne in 20:41, Wellsboro’s Anna Bleggi in 21:18, the Tigers’ Brittany Weiskopff in 21:22, and Wellsboro’s Kayla Mengee in 21:25.

All three teams will be back in action at the NTL Coaches Invite on Saturday, October 15.
