Hornet Happenings – New for 2016

by Jessica Smith - March 1, 2016

Welcome to the first edition of Hornet Happenings for 2016 with Wellsboro High School principal, Rob Kreger. Today’s Hornet Happenings features Jessica Smith, Maddy Sweet, and special guest, Daisy! There’s always something happening at Wellsboro High School. National FFA week was the week of February 22nd through the 26th. During this time, students had the opportunity to participate in lunch activities to win prizes and be put into a drawing to win Elmira Jackals hockey tickets. (The winner was Katey Pacific – congratulations, Katey!) The Wellsboro High School Student council will also be hosting the District 7 District Conference on May 6th. Students, mark your calendars!

In today’s feature Mr. Kreger answers a few questions pertaining to his new position and introduces his new dog, Daisy. Daisy is a 6 month old golden retriever. Mr. Kreger plans to train Daisy to be a therapy dog for students within the school. Regarding Mr. Kreger’s future goals for Wellsboro High School, “I definitely want to the make the school more student-centered.” says Kreger. “I’ve had the opportunity to be here for the last 4 years, and some of these things we’ve already put into place. We want to be a support system for the teachers and take as many distractions as we can out of the classrooms so they can just do their job. We want to…continue to make Wellsboro High School a good place.”
