Goodies for our Troops is a 501c(3) organization that sends year-round care packages to our troops. Since July 2005, they have been continuing with this mission as a 100% volunteer-based organization. Currently, they are operating out of the lower level of 87 Main Street in Wellsboro, but they are in desperate search of a building to move into by March 31st. Dawn Pletcher, the founder, comes from a long line of military families, and shares more about her heart in starting this organization in the video above.

In addition to donations of items such as the ones listed here (link to the pdf), they are also in need of monetary donations. It costs anywhere from $35-$125 to ship each box, so any donations are greatly appreciated. Due to COVID restrictions, they are not taking volunteers at this time, but they are looking to open back up by appointment only on either January 18th or January 24th.

They have to be completely moved out of their current building by March 31st, so if anyone knows of a church or other building in the area that they can move into, please let Dawn know at 570-662-5601 or email goodies@ptd.net. Ideally, it would have space for their tables, chairs, and volunteers, and no stairs to make it easier to access. Please help Dawn continue this mission to help put smiles on our heroes’ faces.
