Glen & Carol Hallead Returning To Mission Field

Glen & Carol Hallead Returning To Mission Field

by John Vogt & Glen Hallead - February 29, 2024

Dear Home Page Family,
An opportunity has risen to touch many hearts with the love of God and the truth of His word. Glen and Carol Hallead have an open door to return to the mission field. Glen’s ministry here on The Home Page Network has touched many of you with his broadcast, “By The Door.” https://www.thehomepagenetwork.com/by-the-door/

Glen has a long list of ministry credentials, from pastoring churches and missions work overseas to being a mentor and tremendous resource to those in Christian leadership. Please take a moment to read Glen’s letter and, if possible, respond with a generous gift.
In His Service and Love,

John and Sara Vogt

__________
Dearly Beloved in Christ,

It seems that the door to a return to active mission work is opening even wider. In addition to our upcoming trip to Thailand, I (Glen) have been invited by the President of the African Bible College network to take an exploratory trip with him to Malawi, the country which has long been at the heart and origin of my engagement in mission.

The African Bible College network of colleges (Liberia, Malawi, and Uganda) has recently faced some difficult times, and the new leadership team is looking to rebuild the system. What they are particularly looking for is someone to come and visit, pray, and counsel with their staff, to meet for Bible Study and fellowship as a means of encouraging them.

This trip would accomplish two things:
1. It would provide an introduction to the work, which might become a semi-annual 2-3 month series of member care engagements; and
2. It would also provide me the chance to meet with African Timothy Two members who teach basic Bible and Theology courses for untrained rural pastors – a huge need with the growing church in Malawi.

This is one of the organizations with which we hope to do some work in Thailand as well. However, all of this will mean raising at least an additional $2500 for this travel, bringing our total need to $8500. We have already raised $4000 of this amount.

Would you consider praying for the Lord’s direction in this matter.? I feel strongly that the time is right for this work. The need is there. The opportunity is there. The willingness is there. All that is needed is the funding, and I believe that whatever God ordains, He also sustains. So, we’re asking for the Lord’s provision to move forward on this.

If you would consider supporting us in this effort, a tax-deductible donation may be made to the Holliday Alliance Church with ”Short Term Mission Fund: Halleads” in the memo portion of the check. Checks may either be mailed to us or directly to the church as follows:

Glen and Carol Hallead
12 Monks Hill Rd.
Middlebury Center, PA 16935

Holliday Alliance Church
33 Oakwood Dr.
Middlebury Center, PA 16935

A one-time gift would help, especially for this trip. A recurring donation would help build for future trips.

We have long appreciated the friendship and the prayer cover you have provided for us. For some of you, that has also meant a significant investment of funds. We are appreciative of each and every one of these forms of support.

As I have considered how, in these days of retirement, of social, moral, and theological confusion, how I might best make use of the resources provided to me I have felt the Lord continue to beckon me to some level of international work. It is a longing deep within me, a longing I need to address. And I dare to ask for your help in engaging this.

Above all, I ask that you consider keeping this matter in prayer. It will mean some significant challenges for me personally and for us as a couple, but we stand ready with the Lord’s help, to step out in faith, trusting Him who is always faithful.

In Christian Faith and Hope,
Glen Hallead
