Generations of Fun at Tyoga

by Lauren Gooch - October 9, 2020

A long-standing tradition of Tuesday Night Ladies Night at the Tyoga Golf Course continues, as a new generation takes interest. About 45 years ago, the Ladies Golf Association (LGA) started meeting on Tuesdays to play golf, share a meal, and enjoy the beautiful open spaces of the Tyoga Golf Course with friends.

Rachel Smith, the founder of the younger ladies night group, recently started a Facebook group and invited as many local women as she could to keep this tradition going. Some nights, there have been around 35 women there to partake in this fun activity. Most of these women have never played golf before, and simply go for a fun night out with friends. Both the older and younger groups of women came together last Tuesday, October 6th, and Home Page cameras were there to capture the fun. Rachel Smith and Sandy Griscavage share more about Ladies Night in this feature.

There are plans for next year to start early and get as many people involved as possible. Ladies of any age and skill level are welcome to join – even if you have never played before! If you are in need of golf clubs or golf balls, they are always willing to share. Join their Facebook Group for more information on getting involved next year, or connect with Rachel Smith on Facebook.
