Games & Holiday Fun for all ages

by Joshua Allen - November 20, 2019

With the holidays fast approaching and the opportunity to connect with friends and family growing near, board games are an excellent way to spend time together. Whether you decide to settle into a more serious strategic board game, teach a young person in your life something special with an educational children’s game, or crack open a laughter-filled party game, they can each offer a fun and meaningful experience. Board games are an important part of my personal life, so I was excited when, in today’s broadcast, I met with Julian and Anja Stam, as well as Tim Wilbourn, to be shown some awesome games their store has to offer. Watch today’s video to see just what games I got to learn about and play.

An important part of the owners Julian and Anja’s vision at Pop’s Culture Shoppe is to promote fun for all ages, and board games are a great way to do that. They can bridge the gap between generations and allow everyone to have fun and be doing something together—not to mention getting away from the screens for a little while. Games aren’t just fun though, they are also a great way to facilitate conversation, get to know each other better, and laugh together. For me, sitting to play a board game has been the first step to many important conversations and has allowed for some amazingly strong friendships to grow.

If a board game isn’t already a part of one of your holiday traditions, consider adding it to the list. If you’re in need of suggestions or are looking for a place to add to your board game collection visit Pop’s Culture Shoppe on the corner of downtown Main Street in Wellsboro or check them out on their website popscultureshoppe.com.

I hope you’re able to find something fun and decide to take the time to play a game with your friends and family. Happy Holidays from all of us here at The Home Page Network and thank you for joining us.
