Fred Lawrenson Reading
The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is pleased to announce the next in our continuing series of readings from local authors. At noon on Wednesday, August 17th local artist and children’s book author, Fred Lawrenson, will read from two of his works. Both of his books were national finalists in the USA Best Books competition.
The first book is “Shalock and the Cloud of Bad Dreams” about a little girl struggling with bad dreams after her older sister gets her own room, and the toy lion that comes to her rescue. The second book, “In Search of the Great Wild Kawkins,” is about a five year old boy whose imaginary friend is a very wild and colorful creature. Both stories are written in rhyme with full color illustrations by the author. Copies of the books will be available for purchase after the reading. Bring the kids for this free, fun event!
The Gmeiner is located at 134 Main Street, Wellsboro, behind the Green Free Library. We are open from 12-6PM Tuesday through Sunday and admission to the gallery is always free.
