Today on Wellsboro Home Page we present another addition of Dunham’s Corner with Ann Dunham Rawson. The big news revealed on this broadcast is the Dunham’s Half of Half Sale taking place this Saturday, February 14th. This is one of those special sales that people greatly anticipate every year. In fact, people begin calling Dunham’s Department store in the middle of January asking about the date of this unbelievable sale.

People actually line up for for this sale, beginning in the wee hours of the morning to take advantage of these over-the-top savings. Dunham’s calls it the “1/2 of 1/2 PRICE SALE.” It’s a huge clearance sale that allows Dunham’s Department Store to re-stock. There are literally thousands of items on sale throughout the store.

This amazing event first began on Saturday, February 29th, 1991. In recent years the sale has been moved to President’s Day weekend allowing more traveling shoppers to take advantage of this sale as well. And with February 14th being Valentine’s Day it makes the entire event even more exciting.

As the years went by Dunham’s Department Store began to develop guidelines to handle the numbers of people who attend this fun event. One of those guidelines put in place deals with how people enter the store safely. Customers are asked to line up outside one specific door. It’s the one closest to Northwest Savings Bank. People typically begin lining up about 7:15 AM. The doors open at 8:30 AM.

There are favorite destinations that people have come to know and love over the years because of the tremendous savings and quality of the merchandise. The shoe department would be one of those areas. The money you can save is absolutely amazing.
