The PIAA District 4 football playoffs kicked off this past weekend with all three area teams in contention.
On Friday, the North Penn-Mansfield Panthers traveled Central Columbia to take on Milton is class 3A, falling 35-0. The Panthers finished the season with a 5-6 record and were 3-4 in the NTL Large School Division.
In the other 3A game, Cowanesque Valley made their 1st ever district playoff appearance as they squared off against the Loyalsock Lancers. Loyalsock won the match up, 47-7. Read more on Pa Football News.
On Saturday in class 2A Wellsboro traveled to South Williamsport in a rematch of their regular season meeting, which the Hornets won. South Williamsport, however, got the best of the Hornets in the playoffs, winning 36-7. Read more on WellsboroFootball.com.
