COVID-19 PENNSYLVANIA NUMBERS RISE, AND STEUBEN COUNTY, NY SPIKES AS CONCERNS GROW OVER EASTER WEEKEND EXPOSURE. NURSING HOMES IN STEUBEN COUNTY ARE NOW FIGHTING ESCALATION. Tioga County COVID-19 Task Force Easter Message

This year, we observe Easter in a challenging context amid painful situations. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world, is also affecting us locally and the way we celebrate Easter.

Tioga County is a region filled with families, friends & neighbors. Although we cannot congregate with loved ones or express and share our Easter joy in church, we can still celebrate from the safety of our homes with one of the many churches offering online services. The Task Force beseeches all Tioga County residents to please Stay Home this weekend. If you must leave your home, follow the social distancing recommendations and wear a mask.

The positive cases in Pennsylvania are rising at an alarming rate and we cannot and must not underestimate the mercilessness of this virus. Yet, despite these traumatic and painful circumstances, the message of Easter continues to be a joyful one of courage and hope. Together we will defeat this virus but we all must do our part. Community Means Everyone and everyone in our community needs your help.

Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and Wash Your Hands.
