Steuben County, NY total positive cases = 241

NY Dept of Health report COVID-19 cases by county.

As Tioga County begins its “green” phase today, state health officials report that the county has detected its 17th case of COVID-19.

This is the first additional case here since April 28. According to the state’s new county breakdown by “confirmed” and “probable” cases, one of the 17 cases is listed as “probable.” A “probable” case in Pennsylvania can include a person who tested positive in an antibody test and has had symptoms or a “high-risk exposure”. Today’s state health data does not indicate whether the latest case is “probable” or “confirmed”.

The latest seven-day rolling average in 11 counties in Northcentral PA is seven new cases per day, nearly two cases per day lower than the seven-day average a week ago. In the past week, over 1,700 tests were conducted in this region, 87 of them in Tioga County.

Counties in New York’s Southern Tier were given the go-ahead to go to Phase 2 re-opening at 1 pm today. In the four Southern Tier counties tracked here, two new cases were logged yesterday.
