Chief Bodine Invites Community to Identity Theft & Scam Safety Seminar
Wellsboro Chief of Police Jim Bodine is inviting surrounding communities to attend a special safety event taking place in the Wellsboro Area High School auditorium on Monday, October 18th. Education and Outreach Specialist from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, David Shallcross will be presenting that evening.
“It’ll be packed with a lot off different information as far as what you should be doing at home to protect your accounts and identity,” said Chief Bodine. “And different things that we’re seeing out there, how people are becoming victims.”
The Wellsboro Police Department has noted a rising number of cases in our area involving identity theft and scams.
“I thought it would be very beneficial to get this program up here for everybody to attend and learn some very good information,” said Bodine. “Anybody with a bank account…could benefit from the presentation.”
The seminar is free and open to the public. Anyone seeking more information is invited to call Chief Bodine at the Wellsboro Police Department: (570) 724-0775.
