Canton’s Nelson punches ticket to Hershey
WILLIAMSPORT — Canton’s Mason Nelson continued his strong wrestling postseason, punching his ticket to states with another second place finish at the Northeast Regional Championships Saturday. Unfortunately, he’ll be going down alone as the Warriors’ lone representative.
The rest of the Warriors had a tough tournament with Lyle Vermilya (107) taking fifth, Riley Parker (172) finishing sixth, while Cohen Landis (121) and Hudson Ward (152) both lost in the wrestle backs.
Troy’s Mason Woodward lost in the consolation semifinals.
Also for Troy Konner Kerr lost in the elimination round, falling to Montgomery’s Carden Wagner by fall in 3:32.
