CANTON – On Wednesday night all eyes were on Molly Ward as she took to the court in hopes of reaching a milestone in basketball. Many basketball players are celebrated for bringing down 500 hundred rebounds in their varsity careers. In Molly’s case however, she was going for 1,000.

With only 7 rebounds to go before the game you could feel the excitement in the gymnasium. Molly got those 7 partway through the second quarter and the celebration began. Hugs were given by teammates, signs were brought onto the court from the stands, and Coach VanNoy rallied cheers from the crowd to celebrate the accomplishment.

Molly’s team stepped it up on this special night staying in the lead the entire night defeating Sayre 38-23. Three players scored three point shots on the night: Tymeson(1) Davy(2) Kitchen(3). Kitchen led all scorers with 13 points.

Canton will return to action Friday night when it travels to Mansfield.
