Breakfast & Sky-High Adventure

by Regan Regina - September 3, 2019

Planes from all over the region landed at the Wellsboro Johnston Airport for the annual Labor Day fly-in breakfast on Sunday, September 1st, 2019. Thousands of visitors stopped in to partake in a delicious breakfast held in the commercial corporate hangar, experiencing breath-taking plane rides over the amazing views of Tioga County. Those interested even had the opportunity to try out the Redbird flight simulator!

While Homepage correspondent, Regan Regina, flew over the Grand Canyon and downtown Wellsboro, she learned all about the Fly In Breakfast tradition. Pilot, Tom Freeman, also spoke about his own flying experiences.

The proceeds from this event go towards the youth interested in the future of aviation. One way this is done is by providing scholarships for teens taking flying lessons with a flight instructor.

The next fly-in breakfast will be held the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Don’t miss these wonderful opportunities to see Tioga County from a whole new perspective and enjoy a delicious breakfast with family and friends.

For more information on the Canyon Pilot’s Association, you can visit their Facebook page here. You can also learn more via Wellsboro Johnston Airport’s website here.
