Borough Council Meeting – 09/09/19

by Joshua Allen - September 10, 2019

Today’s broadcast covers the September 9th Wellsboro Borough Council Meeting held at the Borough Office building. The Council members, led by Council President Craig West, conducted a quick and efficient meeting approving 10 motions, listening to several reports, and receiving an update by citizen Kevin Clark about the progress on a community garden.

Two important motions, among others, that were approved include Oregon Hill’s request to hang their new sign in front of their shop on Main Street and UPMC Susquehanna Soldiers and Sailors’ request to close three streets in downtown Wellsboro on October 26th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All motions presented during September’s meeting received unanimous support with none opposed. Today’s broadcast covers why those streets will be closed and more.

Council Member Michael Wood presented three community announcements pertaining to local events in October and the opening of Brewery Lane Bridge. More details are available in today’s broadcast.

Citizen Kevin Clark, representing Wellsboro United, updated from last month the progress on a community garden and what they are currently doing to benefit the Wellsboro Food Pantry while the garden is under way.

Wellsboro Borough Council Meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Monday of every month beginning at 6:00 PM, unless otherwise stated. Coverage of these Borough Council Meetings is done as a public service by The Home Page Network.
