Blossburg State Coal Festival 2023 Highlights
This past weekend, May 26-27, Blossburg held its annual State Coal Festival.
The Blossburg State Coal Festival is a staple of the Blossburg community, celebrating the town’s coal mining heritage.
The festivities kicked off Friday evening at Island Park, when vendors, food trucks, and other entertainment opened up to the public. Also included was a bonfire for s’mores and ghost stories as the night progressed.
Saturday morning, the festival kicked off in earnest with the coal festival parade. Among those in the parade were local fire departments, county commissioners, and much much more.
After the parade, the festivities moved back to island park with even more entertainment throughout the day. Attendees were treated to music from local schools, an exotic animal presentation, and a car show among the many events going on.
With great weather and a large turnout, this year’s coal festival was a successful one for the history books. Thank you to all the community members, volunteers, and donations who make the Blossburg state coal festival possible.
