Benefitting the Brennans

by Sara Vogt - February 3, 2015

Today we spoke with those who are rallying around the Brennan family at this time, to encourage and support them. Recently, Katie Brennan was informed by her doctors that she has a fast-growing cancer that they are going to treat aggressively. Janice Hughes, a fellow teacher of Katie’s at Trinity Lutheran School, has announced that they will be holding a spaghetti dinner this Friday, February 6th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Brennan family. (Mrs. Katie Brennan has held the title of beloved music teacher at Trinity Lutheran since 2003.) You can arrange your dinner purchase by calling (607)-738-6485, by going to the school, or by showing up during the dinner hours and enjoying your meal. Prices for the dinner are as follows: adults are $7.00, children 4 and older are $4.00, or you can purchase an immediate-family ticket for $23.00. If you have any questions about the dinner, please call Trinity at (570)-724-7723. Thank you in advance from Trinity Lutheran School to our Home Page family of viewers who are constantly giving themselves to the wonderful people in our community.

Thomas Putnam shared with us the details of the Benefit Concert that will take place on March 1st at St. Pauls’ Episcopal Church, Pearl Street in Wellsboro. Admission for the concert is by donation to benefit the Brennans. Many will be performing that night, including the Hamilton-Gibson Children’s Choirs. After the concert there will be refreshments and a silent auction. If you are willing to donate items for the auction or have questions, you may call Terry Babb at (570) 787-3540 or e-mail him at terrybabb@hotmail.com. Or you can call the Hamilton-Gibson office at (570)-724-2079. There are two ways to contribute financially: you can make a deposit to the Katherine Brennan Benefit savings account at Citizens & Northern Bank, or you may make a deposit on GoFundMe.com/brennanbenefit. (Please use the aforementioned URL, as searching GoFundMe may yield an incorrect location due to another benefit page with a similar name.)

Another way to bless the family is by making them a meal by going to TakeThemAMeal.com.
In the search entry field, use –
Name: Brennan
Password: indigo123

Many of us in the area are also praying for God to give wisdom to the doctors that are treating Katie and hoping for a miracle. When I mentioned this to Adam Brennan, Katie’s husband, this was his response:
“If anyone is deserving of a miracle, I believe it is Katie. But we trust that God has a plan and that God holds her in His hands. Whatever God wills, let it be done and let our family’s faith guide us.”

You can follow Katie Brennan’s journey here. Please continue your prayers and support of their family.
