Arcadia Theatre To Reopen
The Arcadia Theatre in Wellsboro will be reopening its doors (and two screens) to show movies again, starting Thursday, September 3.
According to Governor Wolf’s mandate, theater’s may open at 50% capacity. Therefore, the Arcadia’s seating arrangement allows for them to admit 25 people into each screening. At this time, the smaller theaters on either side of Arcadia will not be showing films due to their limited seating.
One of the challenges they’ll be facing is lobby capacity, as only 14 people can be admitted at a time.
“A movie starts at a certain time. Everyone shows kind of about the same time,” said Aracdia Theatre Manager, Peter Davis. “So the real challenge is going to be spacing people out in the lobby. We have a plan, we have signs and guidelines that everyone will need to follow.”
Masks must be worn inside the building, especially in the lobby. Attendees will be allowed to remove their masks to eat concessions, should they purchase them – falling under restaurant guidelines.
With the limited seating, guests should easily be distanced more than 6-feet away. The Theatre has also made improvements to the ventilation with special filters and other methods of airflow.
