Ag Happenings – Students Honor Impactful Teachers
February 17th – 24th was National FFA Week and was celebrated by Grand Canyon FFA by a variety of activities throughout the school and community. Students held dress up days, a food drive, a lock in, and a pancake breakfast.
One unique event that was conducted by the chapter this year is called the “My Jacket, Your Impact” event. Chapter members in 11th and 12th grade have an opportunity to select a teacher that has impacted them in high school and contributed to their success. They presented their FFA jacket to the teacher to hang in their classroom during FFA week and shared with the teacher the impact that they had on the student, and what that meant to them.
This project has been a great way for members to recognize and appreciate their teachers and recognize just how important teachers are to the students’ success in high school. Members thought that the project was a success and are excited to make this a tradition for years to come in the chapter
