Colorado Connection: Bust Follow-Up
On Wednesday, September 23, 2015 – Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced the results of Operation Northern Tier Takedown. This was a united effort involving several law enforcement agencies designed to fight drug trafficking in our area. Criminal charges have been filed against 37 individuals with more arrests coming soon.
On today’s follow-up broadcast we take a look at the discovered COLORADO CONNECTION. During this latest Take Down effort The Mobile Street Crimes Unit also partnered with Pennsylvania Wildlife Conservation Officer Rodney Mee on a case that led to criminal charges against a man caught growing marijuana plants on state land in the Tioga State Forest. The man would then ship the substance for sale to his connections in the state of Colorado.
Officers Mee and Cavanaugh confiscated the plants as part of the next phase in their operation late Wednesday afternoon.
On behalf of all of us here at Wellsboro Home Page, we want to thank the law enforcement officers who risk their lives each day to help keep Wellsboro and the entire Tioga County area safe and free from illegal drugs.
Once again, if you see or hear anything regarding illegal drug use in our area, please contact the Wellsboro Police department at (570-724-4400). Let’s continue working together to win the war on drugs in Tioga County.
