Tricky Tray Auctions Over 500 Prizes For Fundraiser
On Saturday October 29, the Tricky Tray Chinese Auction was held at the borough building in Liberty. With over 500 prizes available, it takes a village to bring all aspects of the event together.
Annie Brooks spoke with Tricky Tray organizers Becky and Carol Miststifer. The event was started 30 years ago with mostly used items and has involved into gift baskets, certificates and monetary donations. The money raised normally goes to the fire department but this year, it was shared with the military food bank.
Co-chair of the Military Share Program, Annie Ostrom explained how the proceeds from the auction will help local military families in the Blossburg and Island Park area. With an average of 19 volunteers a month, the program helps veterans in the community that are facing hardship. The Military Share Program helps 250 families each month.
A special thanks to C&N Bank in Liberty; and thank you to those who showed up to the auction, the Liberty Fire Department, the Military Share Program, and all volunteers who helped make this event possible.
