Pointed Towards Success: Marcia Loughner’s Championship Pointers
Mansfield Home Page’s Deb Bastian, Senior Anchor Correspondent, recently visited Woodbine Kennels in Roseville to talk with owner Marcia Loughner, about raising and showing her champion pointers. Marcia, a paramedic, violin player with the Binghamton Community Orchestra and former laboratory animal technologist with the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry currently has 6 pointers in her household and shares how she became involved 45 years ago raising these beautiful dogs. During the interview she gives a glimpse into the world of competing and showing dogs in the U.S. and Canada.
Later we talked about how COVID has affected dog behavior in much the same way it has affected humans. It’s really not surprising that without contact with other dogs and people, a dog may be come shy and withdrawn. Finally Marcia talks about healthy food choices for champions in the show ring as well as for our family champions at home. Again, not unlike humans, keeping a healthy weight is a priority! Check out the video to see Marcia’s choices for food and treats for our dogs.
