The Weekly Briefing – The DOT Dot
This edition of The Weekly Briefing focuses on how we can help police, fire, and EMS teams better locate our homes in case of an emergency. All numbers should be properly displayed on the side of the house that is closest to the road. All numbers should be at least 4 1/2 inches high. These numbers can be purchased at most hardware stores, or you can contact Tioga County Emergency Services at 570-723-8108 and they can help you order appropriate materials.
PennDOT has just released a new “yellow dot program.” This program is free of charge. If an accident should occur, the yellow dot (which is placed in your rear windshield) notifies emergency teams that your important health information is located in your glove box. You can find more information here – http://www.yellowdot.pa.gov.
PennDOT also offers a service that links your emergency contact information with your license number. When your license number is entered, this allows emergency personnel to have correct information for your specified contact. You can learn more and upload your contact information by clicking here.
