Personal Profiles: Multi-talented Mom
“Honor thy father and mother,’ took on truer meaning once I became a parent and realized what a challenging and fulfilling role it is,” notes Stacey Dondey.
In today’s edition of Personal Profiles, Home Page’s Stacey Dondey looks back on her story thus far with a grateful heart to her parents for the love, support and guidance they provided.
“My mother is extremely capable and was always there cheering me on, making me feel I could do anything.” Linda Buzay encouraged Stacey at a young age to pursue her interests whether it was modeling, musical theater, attending weekend classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, traveling alone to Italy for study abroad, completing a BS degree in Apparel Design from Purdue University or starting a business.
Not only will students be receiving hands-on experience in trade but they will also be receiving OSHA 10 safety certifications. ThIs provides them “an opportunity to succeed right out of the gate- give them a head start,” says Mr. Seeling. This is a two and half year project that features a three bedroom, two bathroom home which will be sold. The profits of this sale hope to be put toward the next home building project.

Dr. Mayo – Child Abuse Prevention
Child abuse is all too common, with reports coming in every 10 seconds nationwide. It takes place at every socioeconomic level, across all ethnic and cultural lines, within all regions, and all levels of education. Child abuse does not discriminate. Fortunately it is 100% preventable. In order to reduce child abuse, spreading awareness and education are key. This not only aims to reduce child abuse, but can also reduce the cycle in which 30% of abused and neglected children go on to abuse their own children.

Tigers top Black Knights in bottom of the 7th
Trailing 4-1 entering the bottom of the 7th inning, the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers rallied for a 5-4 win over the Towanda Black Knights in NTL Large School Division baseball action on Wednesday, April 11.
“That was a great game. We fought back. We were down. We tied it up at 1-1 with small ball,” said head coach Matt Perry. “We moved guys from base to base then at the top of the 7th they score 3 to make it 4-1 and our guys didn’t quit. They had battle left in them. We get 7, 8, and 9 on the bases and the top of the order was able to move guys around. Awesome job, I’m really excited for these guys.

Feeding Our Community
The Mansfield Food Pantry is an invaluable resource to the community. Non-profit, and completely volunteer run, this local food service provides groceries for a large amount of families each week. Barb McConnell, who organizes and coordinates much of the Food Pantry’s functions, shared that there are two other locations in Tioga County (Wellsboro, and Cowanesque Valley). All that is required of those who come to pick of food is a proof of address to verify that the household falls within that locations jurisdiction. The Mansfield Food Pantry serves Arnot, Bloss, Blossburg, Covington, Hamilton, Jackson, Liberty, Mansfield, Mainesburg, Millerton, Morris Run, Ogdensburg, Richmond, Roseville, Rutland, Sullivan, Union, and Ward.
