Young Filmmakers Explore Stop-Motion with “Box of Light”
Home Page correspondent Deb Bastian met with Box of Light Studio Director Rand Whipple at the Deane Center to find out about the two-week residency occurring this week and subsequent. The four classes are full, with sixty children in attendance.
This residency is made possible by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Bradford Regional Art Council, and the Deane Center.
They will cover these topics in the two weeks: film and animation, lego maniacs, claymation, and robotics. These are tech art fused activities!
Rand says, ” These kids are creators. It’s very important at Box of Light that we know that kids on screens, you want to deliver it like nutrition, not too much, a healthy time.”
When the children were asked by Deb what they enjoyed about this week’s Lego Maniacs Camp, they said the building and filming. And the time they spend together doing the projects.
