Winding River Players to Present Alice in Wonderland Jr.
This weekend, the Winding River Players of Towanda will stage Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. for this year’s Summer Workshop Acting Group, also known as S.W.A.G.
“This year’s production is really fun, colorful, whimsical, and quirky,” explains choreographer Emily Soden. “Rehearsals have been going really great. The kids are all really working hard and trying to learn their lines and their dances and cues, and they’ve been putting in a whole lot of effort and their heart and souls onto the stage.”
“My favorite part is the family that we create. I’ve been doing this for about 10 years now, I’ve been in every S.W.A.G. show since 2015,” says Queen of Hearts actress Bella Russo. “It’s really been a family community and I’ve learned so much from when I was 10 all the way till now. It has really harbored me, and we include all of the kids no matter whether you’re eight years old all the way to now 18; everybody has a part and everybody is special and that’s really important to me, and we just really become a family and that’s the most important thing to me.”
The show will open Friday, July 18th at 7 PM, followed by two additional showings on Saturday July 19th at 2 PM and 7 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, or at the door on the night of the show. To learn more, visit windingriverplayers.org or find Winding River Players on Facebook.
