What Does the 4th of July Mean to You?

by Home Page - July 2, 2021

Wellsboro Home Page would like to wish everyone a happy Independence Day! This weekend, we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence and our nation’s freedom. Most importantly, we would like to thank those who have fought and served for our country.

Many people celebrate the Fourth of July by gathering together to have picnics and watch fireworks. This is a tradition that was started hundreds of years ago. The very first 4th of July celebration was one year after the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. America was fighting the Revolutionary War and the display of colorful fireworks gave us a sense of hope and patriotism for our country.

Today, we find out what patriotism (and Independence Day) means to members of our community. Thanks for watching!
