What are you Thankful for?
Giving thanks with a grateful heart changes everything, not only in our own lives but in the lives of our family and friends. It’s hard to be upset at others with a grateful heart. It’s difficult to be sad and lonely with a grateful heart. Giving thanks pretty much neutralizes anger and the desire to take our revenge. No matter what circumstances you face, giving thanks can change your perspective and help you get through the moment, even to the point where you can actually encourage others.
Colossians 3 tells us to “be thankful” and “sing with gratitude.” In Philippians 4:6, we are told to “present our requests to God with thanksgiving.” In Ephesians 5:19, we are called to be “always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Finally, 1 Thessalonians 5 tells us to – Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus our Lord.
