Wellsboro Winter Celebration 2019
On Friday, February 15 to Sunday, February 17 – Wellsboro held its annual Winter Celebration event! Friends and families from all over our region gathered downtown for a weekend of fun, food, sales, and demonstrations!
Wood carver Gary Hilfiger was back again with chainsaw running as he demonstrated his craft to the crowd.
Highland Chocolates tickled our sweet tooth with delicious treats at The Deane Center. Children and their families from around the area also came to The Deane Center for the Deane Little Beans event, including The Spy Who Came In From the Cold – a historical presentation of espionage where kids wrote with invisible ink, used cypher wheels and more spy tools.
The community favorite, ice carvings, returned! This year, you could become the ice king or queen on a throne that would make Elsa jealous.
Racers from around the country gathered on the Green in preparation for the Waste Management Winter RallySprint as the drivers and their crews presented their cars to the local crowd before taking off for the race.
All around town, people cast their votes for the Chili with a Chance for Chocolate taste off – a tasty benefit for Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries.
Later in the day, families flocked to the Green to test their balance on cross country skis and other winter activities with Step Outdoors.
And finally, the day concluded with a special EMMF Jazz Fest dinner and concert at the Penn Wells Hotel with award-winning musician Bram Wijnands.
