Wellsboro Winter Activities 2022
Director of Parks and Recreation of Wellsboro Brian Kennedy joined Home Page Vice-President Sara Vogt to discuss winter activities for the whole family.
Pickleball, biddy, girls’ and men’s basketball, and table tennis are some of the activities that happen this winter at different locations listed on the website below. State of play: Pickleball participation grew by 21.3% between 2019 and 2020, prompting the Economist to declare it “the fastest growing sport in America.” 4.2 million Americans now play at least once a year.
All winter, you can join in on Thursday nights for a run that begins at Packer Park Lot at 6:00 PM. Multiple pace groups for almost any ability level. Bring headlamp/lights; distances vary; runs occur in nearly any weather. Look up Tyoga Running Club on Facebook for more info.
The Parks and Recreation office is in the Borough of Wellsboro building at 14 Crafton Street. To reach Brian by phone, please call 570-724-3186.
For more information and a complete listing on the winter programs, please visit their website at https://wellsbororecreation.org.
