Wellsboro Ladies Win Championship!
The Wellsboro and Towanda 11 and 12-year-old all stars faced off in a three game series for the league championship. Wellsboro won game one, making game two a must-win for Towanda last Friday. Wellsboro lead early, but faltered the lead with costly errors, allowing Towanda to knot the series at one game a piece.
Wellsboro was determined not to repeat game 2. The Hornets were aggressive at the plate to start the game and used great base running to take a commanding 5-0 lead. Towanda had a late inning push, getting the Wellsboro hitters in short order. But it wouldn’t stop Wellsboro from claiming the championship with a score of 8-0.
The Wellsboro lady all stars were greeted by the Wellsboro faithful upon their arrival back home in the form of a small parade.
Congratulations to the Wellsboro Lady All-Stars on their Championship victory!
