Wellsboro Junior Buffalo Bills Return!
Twelve members of the Wellsboro High School football team traveled to Indianapolis to participate in the NFL High School Player Development National Seven on Seven tournament. Every NFL team was represented in the tournament. The Hornets won the opportunity to represent the Buffalo Bills at this event by winning both the district and regional tournaments in Mansfield, PA and Lyons, NY respectively.
They flew out to Indianapolis on July 13th along with many of their parents and siblings. The team participated in eight games in three days, playing against schools like Booker T. Washington High School – currently the number one high school team in the country. This Miami-based school’s roster included 12 division-one recruits. Wellsboro went 1-7 in Indianapolis, but gained new skills and and understanding of the game. They were visited by speakers each night that included past and current NFL players.
Congratulations Hornets, on behalf of all of us here at Wellsboro Home Page. You represented Wellsboro, PA and the Buffalo Bills in the best way! We wish you well you prepare for training camp, starting on August 10th.
Special thanks to Debbi Cooper and David Lamphier for the Indiana footage and still photos.
