Moser’s three touchdowns lead Hornets past Sayre
The Wellsboro Green Hornet Football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 48-14 win over Sayre on Friday, September 1.
Wellsboro held Sayre to 116 yards of total offense. Brown finished 12-for-25 for 155 yards passing, Austin Arnett led the way on the ground with 12 yards on 7 carries, but the team rushed for -39 yards as a whole. Dominik Mazzarese finished with 4 catches for 99 yards.
“Our defense just swarmed to the ball the entire night,” Hildebrand continued. “Mike Pietropola does a great job every week getting the guys ready for games. The guys play with emotion and execute every week.”

Northern Tioga takes Corey Creek
Northern Tioga continued their NTL Golf dominance on Tuesday, September 5 by taking home the top spot at Corey Creek Country Club in Mansfield.
Northern Tioga remains undefeated at 15-0 in the league, Wellsboro is 2nd at 12-3, Sayre is 3rd (9-6), Towanda and North Penn-Mansfield are tied for 4th at 4-11, and Athens is 6th at 1-14.
The league will be back in action next Tuesday, September 12 at Towanda Country Club.

Wellsboro XC Preview 2017
Cross Country season is upon us and the Hornets are ready to run through their competition.
The Hornets bring back all but two of last season’s runners, so 2017 should be the year of the Hornet. Wellsboro has the perfect mix of experience and youth to make a run at both the NTL and District IV titles.

Hornet soccer downs Galeton, 6-1
The Wellsboro Varsity Boys Soccer team remained undefeated with a 6-1 win over NTL rival Galeton on Thursday, September 7.
“It’s always a big game when we play our rival Galeton,” said head coach John Shaffer. “To come out here and beat them 6-1 and have a great crowd and have the boys play so well, I couldn’t ask for a better night.”
The win improves the Hornets’ record to 2-0-1 (1-0-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 12 at home against Northeast Bradford.
