On the Radar – Scam Protection
Fraud costs Americans billions of dollars each year. Scams and fraud are also one of the most reported crimes and most requested informational topics.

Many are familiar with this scam in which a caller purports to be from the IRS advising that you owe money and it needs to be paid immediately. They often request personal information such as Social Security number or your Social Security Number. They may threaten you with police action if payment is not received immediately.
Be aware that the IRS will serve you notice via mail for any outstanding debt and they will always provide you with the opportunity to appeal that debt. Also, they will not threaten you with police action.

Explore the Night Sky!
How often do you look up at the night sky and wonder what an especially bright object is? This past weekend about 150 people of all ages visited the George Strait Planetarium at Mansfield University to marvel at the wonders of the night sky. This free program was provided by the Department of Chemistry and Physics at Mansfield University, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

To schedule a planetarium show for a school, church, or other activity group, or for more information about upcoming shows, please contact Dr. Elaine Farkas at 570-662-4754.
