Hornets top Towanda on Senior Night
The Wellsboro Varsity Boys Basketball team won their 7th straight game after topping Towanda 67-28 on Friday, January 27.

“These kids mean a lot, they’ve been through this whole process with us coming up through and they’re going to be sorely missed when its all said and done,” said Wellsboro head coach Todd Outman. “Hopefully we have 7, 8, 9 more games before we have to call it the end.”

Lady Hornets sting rivals on Senior Night
The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team scored a big rivalry win over North Penn-Mansfield during Senior Night on Tuesday, January 31.

“It was a very good team win for us,” senior Autum Kitajima said. “We came together as a team and we were looking for each other on the court and that will help us prepare for Athens.”

In the last four years, this is only the second time the Lady Hornets have beat their rivals.

“It felt nice to beat this team that have always been our rival all through middle school and high school,” Davis said.

Hornets sting Tigers on the road
It was another game for the ages between the Wellsboro Hornets and the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers on Wednesday, February 1.

“We went to a diamond-and-1 where we played a man on Burleigh and the other four guys were in a zone,” Outman said of his second half adjustments. “I thought they had a little bit of difficulty with that. That’s where we made our run and we just stuck with it and the guys executed the offensive stuff that we wanted to well, and we were fortunate enough to come away with a victory.”

Back to Basics – Relationships
In each of our relationships we tend to hold others to an often unspoken standard and become frustrated when someone fails to live up to our expectations or meet our desires. But, when we approach our relationships with a different perspective everything changes. With the right perspective we will be less likely to focus on what others should be doing for us, but what we can do for them.

This is the example Jesus set: He did not come to Earth to be served, but to serve us! Even though mankind sinned greatly against Him, Christ still lived and died to save our souls. Consider approaching your relationships with a fresh perspective – one that seeks to put others first, even when they least deserve it. In time, you’ll find that others look to you and wonder: “What is his/her secret to such good relationships?”
