Wellsboro Commencement 2019
On Friday, June 7th, Wellsboro High School held its 143rd Commencement and celebrated its class of 2019. Today’s broadcast highlights the evening.
To begin the ceremony, Principal Emily Ostrom Graham welcomed soon-to-be graduates and other attendees.
Next, Superintendent Dr. Brenda Freeman spoke to the class about the path of independence and the importance of remembering where home is.
Mr. John Weaver gave the commencement address, sharing some incredibly valuable advice. Rachel Chamberlain, this year’s salutatorian, followed with a speech of her own.
The high school’s senior choir members then performed the song “The Prayer” while directed by Dan Sensenig and accompanied by Brooke Lundgren.
Following this musical selection, the Class of 2019 valedictorian Bergen Weiner gave an address.
Several scholarships were then awarded to some individuals in the class.
Finally, the moment the seniors were eagerly awaiting arrived: students received their diplomas. Principal Emily Ostrom Graham then certified that each student had fulfilled the necessary requirements to receive a Wellsboro High School diploma.
Students moved their tassels from right to left, caps flew into the air, and the celebration commenced!
Congratulations Class of 2019!
