Wellsboro falls to Dragons in D4 Semifinals
On Tuesday, October 29th, the Wellsboro Boys Soccer team traveled to the Balls Mills Complex in Williamsport to face the Lewisburg Green Dragons for the District IV semifinals.
The Dragons took control of the game early. Just over three minutes into the game, Viktor Permyashkin scored the opening goal off a free kick just outside the box.
Lewisburg put their second ball in the back of the net as Permyashkin cuts inside, crosses the top of the box and lasers it. 2-0 Dragons with 22:42 left on the clock.
With 15 minutes left before halftime, Lewisburg’s Riley Gulden-luthi receives the ball just outside the box, and dings it off the right post. Dragons with a commanding 3-0 lead a halftime.
Permyashkin secured his hat trick and the final goal of the night on a penalty kick in the last few minutes of the game, giving Lewisburg the victory, 4-0.
This concludes the Wellsboro boys soccer team’s season, finishing undefeated in the Northern Tier League and 15-5 overall.
