Wellsboro Celebrates Little League Opening Day
The Wellsboro community gathered for a special occasion this past Saturday – Little League Opening Day!
On Saturday, April 23, thirty-two Wellsboro Little League teams, sponsored by many area businesses, marched down Main Street for the opening day parade.
After the procession, opening day ceremonies took place at the little league complex on Charleston Road. Tonya Harmon was Master of Ceremonies. The teams lined up around to represent their sponsors, and the National Anthem was performed by Olivia Chilson and Noah Vickery. The Little League pledge was then recited by Adeline Frantz and Connor Hartman. Sponsors were recognized and appreciated, and then Pennsylvania State Representative Clint Owlett took the mound to throw the first pitch. The games began shortly after,
Home Page Sports would like to wish all of this year’s little leaguers a fun-filled and successful season.
