Wellsboro Borough Council Meeting – 12/10/18

The Wellsboro Borough Council Meeting was held at the Borough Office this past Monday, December 10, 2018. This monthly meeting is open to the public where comments and questions are encouraged at the meeting. These meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. The Home Page Network encourages our viewers to attend as we participate in our civic responsibility of helping to run our community.

During this month’s meeting, several issues were discussed and motions passed. On today’s broadcast, we cover some of the highlights.

Home Page Anchor/Correspondent Katarina Swendrowski was appointed to the Junior Council Position. Home Page President John Vogt talked with Katarina and Borough Manager Scot Boyce about her appointment and her plans for college and future career in politics. We encourage you to take a few moments to watch the interview.

In other business, Mr. Brad Goodwin’s request for signage at the Red Skillet located at 104 Main Street in the Deane Center was approved.

The motion to appoint John Sticklin to the Wellsboro Planning Commission was approved.

The Wellsboro Municipal Authority has approved the purchase of a new SCADA system and treatment tank seam rehabilitation at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The Municipal Authority is paying for these projects.

In other announcements, Christmas Holiday Garbage pickup – Any garbage pickup scheduled for Tuesday, December 25th will be picked up the morning of the 24th.

Garbage pickup on New Year’s Day will run as normally scheduled.

The motion to adopt Resolution #2018-08, partnering the Borough with the Tiadaghton Audubon to participate in the Bird Town program was approved.
