Wellsboro Borough Council Meeting – 01/14/19

by Home Page Staff - January 18, 2019

The Wellsboro Borough Council Meeting was held at the Borough Office this past Monday, January 14, 2019.

This week’s meeting highlight includes two very important presentations. First, Katarina Swendrowski – (a Wellsboro Area High School student) – was sworn in as a Junior Council Person by Wellsboro Mayor, John Wheeler. Her responsibilities include attending borough council meetings, obeying borough council rules and being actively involved in borough business.

Secondly, new signs designating that Wellsboro is an official Audubon Pennsylvania Bird Town were presented that will be on display on the major roadways entering into the borough. Audubon Pennsylvania Board Member, Leigh Altadonna, introduced the announcement and was joined by Tiadaghton Audubon Society treasurer & secretary, Sean & Robin Minnick.

“Wellsboro is the first Audubon Bird Town to be established outside of the counties in southeastern Pennsylvania. That’s very significant,” says Altadonna.

These meetings are held on the second Monday of every month beginning at 6:00 PM unless otherwise stated. We encourage our Home Page viewers to make it a priority to be there and participate in your civic responsibility of helping to run our community.
