Wellsboro Blanks North Penn-Liberty with 3-0 Road Victory
The Wellsboro boys’ soccer team delivered a commanding performance Thursday night, defeating the North Penn-Liberty Mounties 3-0 in a decisive road win.
Wellsboro wasted no time establishing control, striking early when Cameron Owlett found the back of the net off an assist from Mason Nowak. Just minutes later, Johnathan Carl launched a perfectly placed ball from midfield into the box, where Jacoby Strang buried the shot to give Wellsboro a 2-0 advantage with 29 minutes left in the first half.
The dynamic duo struck again in the second half — Carl connecting with Strang for a repeat goal, beating the keeper and extending the lead to 3-0 with 30 minutes remaining.
From there, the Wellsboro defense locked in, shutting down the Mounties’ offensive pushes and preserving the clean sheet through the final whistle.
Next up, the Wellsboro boys hit the road again to face Milton on Saturday, while the North Penn-Liberty Mounties travel to Montoursville as they look to bounce back.
