The Weekly Highlights 01/06/14 – 01/10/14

Happy Birthday to David Tews! And a look at this week's highlights

by Home Page Staff - January 11, 2014

We start things off today with a very special birthday greeting for David Tews. Happy Birthday David and best wishes for a great year. Thank you for investing so heavily in our community. You and Rachel have made Wellsboro, PA a better place. Thanks for all the time and support you have given to so many organizations such as Rotary, The Deane Center, Endless Mountain Music Festival, Hamilton Gibson, Laurel Festival, Wellsboro Home Page and many others. We also want to thank you for your business investment in our community through Indigo Wireless.

David Tews is a Wireless Pioneer and an expert in the wireless industry going back to 1991. In 1993, what is now known as Indigo Wireless, turned on the very first wireless service for Tioga County, PA. Then in 1996, when more coverage was needed in Tioga County, David worked closely with the Tioga County Commissioners. The result was a new tower on Bloss Mountain that was paid for in its entirety by what is now Indigo and then donated to Tioga County. The total cost of the Bloss tower and all of the associated construction was covered at no cost to the taxpayers. Indigo wireless was providing service to our community seven years before any other wireless company, and continues to lead in expansion. Since those early days Indigo Wireless has invested millions of dollars in our community to provide us with the best NATIONWIDE service possible.

Thank you David Tews for your insight, business acumen, vision, and efforts in leading Tioga County, PA into the future regarding wireless technology, and once again Happy Birthday David from all of us here at Wellsboro Home Page.
