IT’S A DOG’S LIFE!
Some of the important reasons we take our pets to a groomer are mentioned in this article and talked about today on our feature with Mary Tyre of Pampered Pooch. When most of us think about grooming we picture our dogs looking and smelling great! However, groomers can also detect early signs of illness in our pets, giving us information to relay to our veterinarians.
They can also help to protect our families health by identifying an infestation of parasites such as fleas, ticks and tapeworms which can be transmitted to us. Another way grooming benefits our pets is by making the animals more comfortable by the process of trimming their nails, clearing hair out of their ears and removing matted hair – just to mention a few! The lack of hair and dander in our homes left (due to the groomers’ help) will help keep allergies from irritating and leaves your house cleaner.

HORNETS BACK ON TRACK
The Wellsboro Boys and Girls Track Team has had a slow start to the season after the first meet was canceled due to weather. Wellsboro’s Head Coach Elizabeth Hoover commented on how the weather has not been on there side. She states that there has been snow and rain covering the track making it hard for the athletes to get outside and practice there events.

Looking at the Boys side of things, Seniors Michael Pietropola and Nick Marple are looking to have a big impact on the team. They are both two strong legs on the 4×100 relay team and also do well in other events. When asked about their thoughts for the upcoming season they both commented on how they wanted to beat their personal records from previous seasons. The Boys team brings back a lot of veterans with a good nucleus of underclassmen and hope for a strong finish in the NTL.

While the Boys Team is looking to improve, the Girls Team is trying to claim NTL Championship once again. They have almost everyone back from last season, including a State Qualifying 4×100 relay team. On that team is Raisa Rogers, Jada Jackson, Lauren Bleggi, and Lindsey Graver. When we asked Lauren Bleggi about her goals for this season she said that she was hoping make it back to the State Track Meet. Another Hornet athlete looking to make a big difference is Meghan Bodine. She is a senior thrower, who excels in many events as well. When asked about her favorite place to compete she said, “I can’t wait to go to Athens.” The excitement for both the girls and the guys team is here and they can’t wait to compete.
