DECORATING DECODED – EFFECTIVE LIGHTING
Good lighting design involves more than just how decorative the fixtures you choose are. Even a room that has been completely remodeled can fall flat without the right lighting.
Lighting is divided into different functional categories: ambient, task and accent. By using all 3 types of lighting in a room, you create layers of light. Too many people make the mistake of expecting one type to do it all. Each type meets a particular need.

SUSQUEHANNA HEALTHY!
Dwindling Divas, Fat Busters, Flab to Fab, Food Fighters, Thin It to Win It, Slim Down Sisters, Waisting A Way, and West Ave Wellness Warriors; what do these names have in common? These are just a few of the team names in the 2015 Weight Loss Challenge going on at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.

But this isn’t just happening here in Wellsboro – three other hospitals of Susquehanna Health are also participating in this weight loss competition. This is their first four- campus-wide weight loss competition. The participants include 108 teams with 1,042 members, which is approximately 30% of the Susquehanna Health organization. Here in Wellsboro there are 240 participants in 25 teams. The challenge began on January 16th and extends for sixteen weeks, ending on May 8, 2015. In May, there will be two winning teams – one for total team weight loss and the other for percent of body fat lost (the same team cannot win both categories). The winning teams will receive eight hours of PTO per member.
