TIGERS TAKE MARGARET BERGUSON TROPHY!
The Wellsboro Hornets and North Penn-Mansfield Tigers took to the basketball court Saturday night in the first annual Margaret “Peg” Berguson Memorial Trophy game between the two rival schools.
Then North Penn-Mansfield went on a run in the final minutes of the fourth quarter pulling away from the Hornets down the stretch for a 58-46 Northern Tier League victory.
Following the game, Wellsboro High School Principal David Krick presented the memorial trophy to the Berguson family and the winning North Penn-Mansfield Tigers.

THE EAST WEST LEGACY
Self-discipline, respect, focus, integrity, and perseverance – these are some of the attributes that East West Karate taught me in my eight years of going from 2001-2009.” says Drew Patrick. This Karate School located in Mansfield, Pennsylvania endeavors to teach kids both the physical benefits, (like self-defense and strength), and the mental benefits (like the attributes previously mentioned) – without the attachment of spiritual beliefs. On Thursday, January 8th Home Page had the opportunity to watch a class session and Drew spoke with Head Instructor, Mr. Bob Pratt. Click here to watch the interview!

JV LADY HORNETS AND VARSITY TIGERS WIN!
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won a thrilling double overtime victory by the final of 49-43. Freshman Lizzie Poirier scored 19 points on the night before fouling out and Grab pitched in 10 as the JV team improved their record to 6-2.

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball gave up 20 first quarter and 25 third quarter points as the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Hornets, 54-36.
Despite scoring first in the second half, the Lady Hornets’ shooting went cold as they missed shot after shot, giving Mansfield numerous scoring opportunities. Mansfield would capitalize and in turn catch fire from behind the three-point line to put the game out of reach.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 6-5 (2-2 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Thursday, January 15 as they host Williamson.
