Warriors Triumph Over Trojans, 40-31
On Wednesday, January 22nd the Troy Trojans wrestling team hosted the Canton Warriors.
To start the night, in the heavyweight – Trojan Reed Palmer won by forfeit. Followed by Warrior Levi Vermilya, also receiving a forfeit.
Weighing in at 114, Canton’s Carson Castle pinned Connor Dibble in 1:42 in the first.
Next, at 121 Warrior Henry Proseas won by forfeit.
At 127, Canton’s Lyle Vermilya pinned Wilder Koch in 3:42.
At 133, Trojan Keagan Kerr pinned Ethan Brasington in 1:29.
At 139, Troy’s Marcus Frisbie defeated Carson Tillotson by technical fall.
At 145, Canton’s Tommy Preston won by decision over Logan Heasley, 12-0.
Then at 152, Trojan Carter Austin took down Lawrence Halbfoerster by technical fall.
At 160, Canton’s Manuel Halbfoerster pinned Bridon Putnam in 3:06.
At 172, Troy’s Rylan Breidt won by decision over Blaine Wesneski, 7-2.
To round out the night in Canton’s favor, Leland Pepper won by forfeit at 189, followed by Kael Millard at 215 – concluding the match with a total team score, 40-31 Warriors.
The Warriors will be back on the mat on January 24that West Branch High School for the Ultimate Warrior Tournament. While the Trojans travel to Jersey Shore on the 28th.
